I'm new to linux and this was a very well done introduction with a touch of extension into 'where you would go next'.

How'd anyone ever learn anything without the Internet!

You pointed out correctly, there is no use of setting SUID on scripts, but there is an exception, perl scripts . Check bellow link, I explained SUID bit using perl script.

Thumbs up Some good hints for newbies

A lot of effort has been made to prepare the article. I picked up some 'bits' to try later. Yet I am not experienced enough to digest the whole lot. Thanks for the writer.
