zd1201 usb wlan ok but no wlan0 found

I have a Usb Wlan adapter with Zydas 1201. I am using Slackware 10.1 with kernel 2.6.10, and the drivers form http://linux-lc100020.sourceforge.net/ .
When I plug the usbwlan dongle the zd1201 module is loaded, the firmware is loaded (everything with hotplug).
lsusb -v finds the adapter.
But there is no wlan0. When I do ifconfig -a no wlan0 appears.

Suggestions?

iwconfig says:

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

eth1 no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

I think the modules are allright because I use the zd1201 drivers in windows, and lsmod says:

I was wrong, the firmware does not load correctly, this is what dmesg says:

Failed to load zd1201.fw firmware file!
zd1201 firmware upload failed: -2
zd1201: probe of 2-3:1.0 failed with error -2
usbcore: registered new driver zd1201

I made it work after rmmod and modprobe several times, and changing the usb socket. But its a question of luck. I think it is a problem with hotplug. I have nvidia chipset (for the usb core)
