WRT54G ver 2 router and Orinoco gold 802.11b


Hi all -

First, let me say that I am a self-admitted neophyte (borderline newbie) in Linux, have mostly used Redhat 8, then installed 9, and have now installed FC2 on my work laptop. Everything went beautifully with the install, but, and I think i'm not alone on this from the posts I have read in here, my wireless card just doesn't seem to want to give it a go.

This message pertains to FC2.

FC2 recognizes the card, as I can set all the parameter through iwconfig, and can also add the card via the gui utility, so I am honestly not sure where to go from this point.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Please let me know what additional information I can give you all to further assist us all.

Try
'dhcpcd -k' (kill any running dhcpcd's'
'dhcpcd -d eth1' 'gets ip or eth1 with more output'
and post the output
