rite now im using knoppix, cool distro indeed. the onli prob is that i cant get into the net using knoppix wif my TEW-229 UB (version 2.0 ) wlan usb adapter. And unfortunately too, the manufacture doesnt provide linux os driver for it... sigh trendnet.com/support/linux.htm
ive tried installing the windows Me version of the driver using ndiswrapper, but it stated there the prog doesnt work wif the driver * cries * . and i really wanna use linux! Guys please help anyone here could 'invent' a linux based driver from the win driver? and theres a driver ( all windows ) at their vendor site. please cud anyone try it?? |
ndiswrapper usually works best with Windows 2000 or XP drivers.
The creation of a new driver for something is non-trivial. If you're looking for that, the very least someone would need is the same hardware, in order to test and debug it. Your best bet for a native linux driver is to find another device with the same chipset. |
