Wireless won't connect

OK I think I have the driver for my card working. Lights come on and an "iwlist wlan0" shows the networks around my house.

My problem is I can't get it to connect to my network. "ping 192.168.1.1" will not work. I have iwconfig showing the correct frequency, essid, etc. I have tried "dhclient" with no returned addresses, and have tried "ifconfig wlan0 up 192.168.1.102 netmask 255.255.255.0". This results in an IP being displayed under ifconfig, but I am still unable to ping 192.168.1.1.

What am I missing here?

Do you have any encryption scheme configured on your access point?

That wasn't the problem. I disabled it to make sure.

Either way, I ditched that card and found an Ativa. The Ativa was real quick to get up with the madwifi drivers since it has an Atheros chipset. I'd highly recommend madwifi. Never figured out what the problem was with the other card.
