wireless sensitivity gone haywire, can't find cell (ad-hoc)
I can't for the life of me figure out what has happened here..!
I can no longer connect to my router under linux.
the network is wireless, works fine under WinXP still so its not the card.
iwconfig gives me:
eth1 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"gtfnet" Nickname:"zeus"
Mode:Ad-Hoc Frequency:2.447GHz Cell: 02:4E:80:6E:C2:EA
Bit Rate:2Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm Sensitivity:1/242700000
[snip]
the cell changes on a regular basis, ie:
eth1 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"gtfnet" Nickname:"zeus"
Mode:Ad-Hoc Frequency:2.447GHz Cell: 02:03:04:23:46:A7
Bit Rate:2Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm Sensitivity:1/242700000
[snip]
sensitivity has always showed 1/3 in the past.
dmesg shows orinoco 0.9b driver being used.
OS is kernel 2.4.18, debian.
what could have changed to cause this?
