wireless scanning kicks me off network
I truly have no idea what is wrong in this situation. I bought and older model orinoco gold card ( the decent one) and installed pcmcia-cs-3.1.33 with the airschmoo drivers for kismet and whatnot. Well when I attempt to connect to my WEP protected network (all info previously set), or even on pre-configured info at bootup, it won't connect. But that's not the problem, for I run /etc/rc.d/rc.pcmcia restart and all is well. Why is this??
Also, once I'm finally connected, if I attempt to run nmap or nessus on a network computer, I find I get kicked off the network, and can no longer access anything on it. I have no IDS that would prevent me from doing so, and I have your standard Linksys WAP. So how could this be happening?? Thanks for the assistance |
Yep - nmap and nessus kill my wlan connection
I'm having a similar problem. I'm running SuSE 9 with a Dell TRueMobile 1150 / Orinoco card. I have installed the patched orinoco driver to enable monitor mode. Kismet works great by the way but I'm having a heck of a time getting Airsnort to compile.
Anyway, if I launch nmap or Nessus, my wireless card ceases to function after only a few packets. This happens under Windows XP with this card as well. Strange, as I only have this problem now that I've upgraded the drivers under SuSE 9. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Klaus www.controlmusic.com |
