Wireless problem Intel PRO/Wireless 3945abg iwl3945 driver

Dear all,
I am using ubuntu8.04LTS..i had my wireless working good. Few days back i am not able to connect through wireless. I have meddled with System->Admin->Network But no luck..

My network driver is Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 and have driver module iwl3945...

I am seeing my iwl3945 driver loaded using lsmod...but it is not used by any process...My System->Admin->Hardware Drivers shows no properitary drivers...i decided to recompile kernel with all driver options...

I got kernel 2.6.28.10 compiled it, and now my hardware drivers are detected in system->admin->hardwaredrivers...Still i am not able to use wireless...What might be the problem...I could not able to solve this issue...Help me to resolve it....

my iwconfig shows
lo no wireless extensions.

eth2 no wireless extensions.

wmaster0 no wireless extensions.

this seems to be network manager problem, does wireless work if you boot with live cd? If yes try to reinstal/upgrade network manager..
