Wireless on a compaq 900

Ok, this is driving me crazy. I've searched everywhere with no luck. Has anyone been able to install a wireless PCMCIA networking card with Mandrake 9.0-9.1 with a compaq presario 900?
Right now, I can't get it to recognize the card at all. With 9.0, the cardmgr froze the system. I have yet to try that with 9.1, as I figure it will be the same result.

Sorry, my general frustration got the better of me :)
I'm running a compaq presario 900 with amd athlon xp 1800, split 40g hd with mandrake 9.1 and windows xp(wireless works there), and a DLink 650+ airplus wireless pcmcia network card.
Installing linux was in itself a chore, having to pass nomce and noauto on install so that the kernel didn't panic.

Well, got some more bad news, the D-Link DWL-650+ is a Texas Instruments chipset that TI refuses to release a driver or specifications for, so there are no Linux Drivers for the card at all.

The DWL-650H is supported, as well as the straight DWL-650 and oddly enough, the DWL-650A card.

Cheers,
