wireless notebook adapter not working!?

I was just given a wireless router-swtich that came with a pcmcia card, it is Microsoft brand. The card is a MN-720. I have tried to set it up as the posts talk about for the MN-520 with no luck. I have no lights or any indication that the system knows it is there. I have looked all over the internet but my searches have been less than fruitfull.

Please could someone help me!
Thank you
Jeremiah

According to this list your card has a Prism chipset, which should work using the drivers from The Linux Wlan Project (same site)

Well, the MN-520 uses the Prism chipset. My card, the MN-720 uses the Broadcom chipset which if I read it right, has no support! :-(
Thanks
JJ

Not a problem at all, I wish it was the prism chipset!

I saw this thread a day or two ago. Not sure if it will help, but it could be a start ;)

Way Cool,
I think this just might work, I am trying it now.
I will let you know.

My system now sees something is there, but it is acting like it did before I installed the drivers in windows. I am going to take to the people at http://www.linuxant.com who had the driver.

I GOT IT, WOO HOO!!!!!!!! :-) Go to http://www.linuxant.com and download there driverloader software, you install it and then point the web broswer to http://localhost:18020. Then you pick out the windows driver files. opt for the free trial license to make sure it works. After you know it works a regular license is only $15.

Sweet!:)

jj4146 10-29-2003 09:04 PM

Well it works, but I have to be carful because it locks the system up often. bummer

jj4146 10-30-2003 12:04 AM

Again I found the problem, I had set the card to 54g performance. When I reset to 54g-802.11b compatible my lockup problem cleared right up. Way Cool

jj4146 11-02-2003 08:25 AM

Well, it was still locking the system. I e-mailed www.linuxant.com and was told to upgrade, I had version 1.21, I upgrade to 1.24 and reset my speed to the fastest 54g performance and have not had a lockup yet.
