wireless intel 2200 and inspiron 8600


got a dell 8600 inspiron and intel 2200 lan, broadcom 2200. trying to configure wireless with no sucess. anyone know how to configure suse 9.1 and intel 2200 wireless??

thanks , looks like its a bit tougher than i thought installing the wireless lan on suse. the only system that actually installed and asked for my encription key, was ubuntu linux. might give it a try again since it was fairly easy getting it set up, i forgot to write the encription key down.

Give SUSE 9.2 a shot! I got the same hardware as you and installation was a breeze: Few clicks in YaST ->load the firmware-> load the driver-> up and running

I got through it with SuSE 9.1 Pro on a Dell Inspiron 1150 with the "Dell Wireless LAN" card (actually a Broadcom 94306) thanks to a lot of help (and patience) from people on this forum. The notes may pull you through, particularly the later posts when things were finally coming together.

I did it initially with ndiswrapper. Yesterday I got it going with Linuxant's DriverLoader, a $19.95 product you might want to consider.
