wireless hangs at DHCP.

Yes, my wireless hangs at DHCP for a while, then it fails with the symbol "!!!".

Code:
duckwork linux # /etc/init.d/net.ath0 start
 * Starting ath0
 * Configuring wireless network for ath0
 *     ath0 connected to "WLAN" at FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
 * in ad-hoc mode (WEP enabled - open)
 *   Bringing up ath0
 *     dhcp
 *       Running dhcpcd ...                                     [ !! ]
iwconfig detects my card and I'm not sure what I'm doind wrong. I live across the street from my school and I am trying to connect to the internet through them (which I would often do with windows).

Here is my iwconfig:
Code:
ath0      IEEE 802.11  ESSID:"WLAN"  Nickname:"WLAN"
          Mode:Ad-Hoc  Frequency:2.422 GHz  Cell: FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
          Bit Rate:0 kb/s   Tx-Power:50 dBm   Sensitivity=0/3
          Retry:off   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:666F-6F62-6172   Security mode:open
          Power Management:off
          Link Quality=0/94 Signal level=-95 dBm Noise level=-95 dBm
          Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0
Here is what is in my /etc/iconf.d/wireless:
Code:
essid_ath0="any"
adhoc_essid_ath0="WLAN"
key_WLAN="open 666F-6F62-6172"
config_WLAN=( "dhcp" )
mac_config_001122334455=( "dhcp" )
associate_order_ath0="any"
Am I doing something wrong with dhcp?

***edit

I only can guess,

Some drivers work, but not quite well. much less power....

Could this be your problem??
