Wireless Card Problem

Hi All,

This is my first post on here and I'm really hoping you guys can help me out.

I'm currently running Fedora Core 5 with the 2.6.15 kernel. I have my wireless card running fine on this machine thanks to the people at Linuxant. Anyway, I recently updated my kernel to the 2.6.17 kernel and now my wireless card doesn't work. I think there were some additions to the newer kernel to support the broadcom drivers. I'm wondering if there is some conflict between the kernel and the Linuxant drivers.

Any ideas would be appreciated!!

You will need to recompile the Linuxant drivers with your new kernel's headers. The ones you have already are ONLY compatible with 2.6.15. Anytime you update your kernel, you will have to do this for each driver you added yourself (i.e. any driver not in the kernel package, and any driver not built with the kernel's makefile when upgrading).

Thanks for the reply!!

I did try to reload the drivers into Linuxant when I upgraded the kernel and it was a no go. My machine doesn't see my card.

Wow... I'm dumb...

Instead of re-installing the drivers, I reloaded the Linuxant software with the new kernel-dev packages and now everything is working.

Thanks!!
