Wireless Card Problem
I am brand new to Linux and I am trying to get my Dell Latitude C400 working with RedHat 7.3. So far, so good. My last task is trying to get my Linksys WPC11 (v2.5) to work. I have downloaded, and compiled the drivers (linux-wlan-ng-0.1.14-pre4) without incident. However, when I insert the card I get a beep followed by a lower toned beep (indicating that the card did not inialize, I'm guessing.) The text in /var/messages reads:
cardmgr[713]: initializing socket 0 cardmgr[713]: socket 0: Bromax OEM 11Mbps 802.11b WLAN Card (Prism 2.5) cardmgr[713]: executing 'modprobe prism2_cs' kernel: init_module: prism2_cs.o: 0.1.14-pre4 Loaded kernel: init_module: dev_info is: prism2_cs kernel: prism2_cs: index 0x01: Vcc 5.0, irq 3, io 0x0100-0x013f cardmgr[713]: executing: './wlan-ng start wlan0' /etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifup wlan0 cardmgr[713]: + './wlan-ng: line 280: unexpected EOF while looking for matching ``' cardmgr[713]: + './wlan-ng: line 331: syntax error: unexpected end of file cardmgr[713]: start cmd exited with status 2 Thing only thing that stands out for me is the listing for the Bromax card which is not the one I am using. Have I missed a step or made an obvious newbie blunder? Can any one offer some advice? |
D'oh! I didn't see the other posts about this card. I will work through the solutions there. Sorry for the clutter.
