Wireless Card Issue

Just installed Fedora Core 5, in its release notes it says that it has compatability for Intel 2100/2200 Cards. After a clean installation I go to Network Configuration and the card is listed under hardware as Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG which seems to be correct. However when I go to activate it under devices, it gives an error "tg3 device eth1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization." Is there something I'm missing? Any help appreciated.

Just threw in an old wireless Avaya B card and that works. In the network configuration window eth0 is Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 of type Wireless. Then eth1 and eth2 are both of type Ethernet and are the Pro/Wireless internal card and the PCMCIA avaya wireless card. When I probe for mac addresses eth0 is the avaya mac adress, eth1 is the internal NIC, and eth2 says "[Errno 19] No Such Device." Right now when I activate the device that connects to the Access Point its using device eth0, nickname eth1, and of type Wireless.

Does eth1 show up if you do an iwconfig? Have you checked the driver's support page. I used this card briefly with FC5-test3 and the only thing I had to do was get the firmware from the driver site and put it in the correct directory (/lib/firmware I think, but I can't check b/c the machine I was doing this on was a build for someone else and has been handed over to them). A little googling should help you out.

edit: since you added another post, my post refers to the Intel 2200 card.
