Wireless card fails to link on boot with DHCP enabled
I'm looking for some help with my wireless card.
I have a Linksys WPC11 v.4 wireless card running on Mandrake 10.1 Official with the 2.6.8 kernel. It's taken me a while to get the wireless card to work but I finally found the right combination of ndiswrapper and kernel. But it's still not quite right. During bootup everything starts up OK except that wlan0 fails to start. If I edit the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0 file (which is a link) and comment out BOOTPROTO=dhcp it will say on boot up that it's "OK". But if I do that I do not get a link. So what I do know is run a little script each time I turn on the laptop I wrote that does a network stop, then I define the essid, mode, and frequency for wlan0, then do a network start. I then get a link. What is the little piece of the puzzle that I'm missing to get this to startup with DHCP on boot? Thanks. |
*Bump*
Was I not descriptive enough, or is this something no one wants to touch? |
