I'm trying to setup my wireless network from a back-track live CD and i'm having problems.
I installed the driver using ndiswrapper.
I did ndiswrapper -m
I did depmod -a
I did modprobe ndiswrapper
Here's my code:
Code:
root@slax# airodump wlan0 out 0
ioctl(SCIOSIWMODE) failed: Invalid argument
ARP linktype is set to 1 (Ethernet) - expected ARPHRD_IEEE80211 or ARPHRD_IEEE802111_PRISM. Make sure RFMON is enabled: run 'ifconfig wlan0 up': 'iwconfig wlan0 mode Monitor channel <#>'
when i do
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 up
SET failed on device wlan0: Invalid argument
I read about ndiswrapper not supporting monitor mode so i downloaded
the linux drives for my adapter form berlioz.de but i have no knowledge at all
in installing a driver.
Can anyone point me to a good step by step tutorial on how to install linux driver.

it did work with fedora core 9 and I think it will work with back track two. I think for backtrek to a friend of mine I did uninstall the module and installed again but I am not sure if they were broadcomm bcm43xx or it was Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG but they did work.
