I'm trying to connect to my computer with a nokia 9500 but it just isnt working, I have my ralink card set up and an ad-hoc network set up. The network appears on my phone and i can connect to it and the connection seems to be active but i just cant get any information out of it, for example connecting to the apache server running on my computer just doesnt work, neither does ssh. I cant ping my phone either (i think i did once but that was it) but that might have something to do with the phone not responding to them.
I cant ping my computer from the phone because the phone i have has a rare symbian operating system that not many people write software for and the few people who do seem to get away with charging $29.99 for a ping utility LMAO. Anyway they are not getting my $29.99
My network has no security or filters or any of that crap because i live in the middle of nowhere and the signal wont even get to the road.
Of course i want to be able to just surf the internet & send emails with my phone but first i want to be able to connect to servers running on my own comp. so what is wrong with it? cuz i havnt a clue
