wifi kernel orinoco questions

What I have: slack 10.0 w/ 2.4.26 kernel, orinoco gold card.

What I'm trying to do: run kismet.

My current setup does not support monitor mode (as per the iwpriv output) and kismet needs that to do it's thing. From what am understanding is that I need to update the drivers for the card... yes? Does this reqiure a kernel update? Do I need orinoco_cs or pcmcia_cs. Nothing out there seems to be very straightforward as to what I need to do.

I have done searches on this forum but maybe I am missing what I'm looking for.

Thanks,
Mk.

The Kismet docs cover it pretty well here. Look near the bottom of the page in the section titled "Orinoco Driver Patches."
