I have an acer laptop with ubuntu on it and I am trying to share internet with my fujitsu siemens n520 pocket loox through wifi. I have made an adhoc connection and they seem to be connected but i can't browse from my pocket pc. the command iwconfig wlan0 gives the output

Mode:Ad-Hoc Frequency:2.412 GHz Cell: F2:26:84:06:A3:78
Bit Rate=1 Mb/s
RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Power Managementff
Link Quality:100/100 Signal level:-22 dBm Noise level:-96 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

and i can ping
ping -I wlan0 -c 1 192.168.0.1

PING 192.168.0.1 (192.168.0.1) from 192.168.0.2 wlan0: 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 192.168.0.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=13.7 ms

rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 13.789/13.789/13.789/0.000 ms

Well, you need to actually configure routing between the two interfaces before you can share an Internet connection through the machine. Have you done anything with iptables yet in this setup, or have you only setup the Ad-Hoc network between the two devices?

well I don't know much about iptables. I have used firestarter wizard and configured wlan0 as lan allowed connection. To pocket pc I have used ip:192.168.0.1, dns the output of cat /etc/resolv.conf and gateway the IP of laptop wlan0 192.168.0.2
