what is the meaning of "e" in "double freq = 914.0e6; // frequency"


In the following statement used for defining frequency in Hz, what is the meaning of "e"

"double freq = 914.0e6; // frequency"

would be nice to know at least the language you use.
In general it is called scientific notation, and you can use google to look for a lot of examples, explanations...

.... that's line 164 from ns-2.xx/indep-utils/propagation/threshold.cc


I'd guess that `914.0e6' is some kind of binary value of "frequency" ?
See post #2 : "scientific notation".

Similar figures can be used in ns2 also for distance / radius.
Example from the file zrp-Demo1-100m.tcl , line 17 :
Agent/ZRP set radius_ 1.42681e-08 ;# Setting ZRP radius : distance 100 meters

I got the meaning

Its...914.0 X 10^6 which is 914 MHz frequency
