Using a Novatel / Verizon MiFi 2200 with Kunbuntu

Has anyone had any luck using the Verizon MiFi 2200 mobile broadband access point with their Linux box? I just bought one and am having no luck. I'm using Kunbuntu 9.10 (2-6-31) and I've had no problems using the Mifi 2200 on my Windows box, both as WWAN and WiFi. And I've read several blog posts from Unbuntu users who are using it without issue. (The Verizon page doesn't say that Linux is supported, but the Novatel page does.)

When I plug it into my Linux box, it recognizes it immediately as both a CD-ROM (w/the documents) and a Mobile Broadband. At least, I think it recognizes it as a mobile broadband - my network icon changes from a globe to a cell phone and it notifies me that the device was recognized.

But there's no connect option. If I hover over the network, it shows "Not Connected", and if I click on it to bring up my Network Manager, it doesn't show any available connections.

I just recently switched from Slackware over to Kunbuntu, so I'm not that good at diagnosing this - I'm not even sure how to bring up a list of every device, which might help me figure this out. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks,
PK
