usb wlan works but only after i unplug and plug
After finally getting my NETGEAR MA101 router to work perfectly it burned out and now I have a Siemens Gigaset USB 11. Using the same configuration as with the MA101 I now have to unplug the device and then plug it in again in order to get it to work... it must be a configuration thing, but I haven't been able come up with anything useful. Any ideas??? I'm running SUSE9.0 with a 2.4.21 kernel.
Just after startup, when I do a IWCONFIG I get: lo no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. eth0 ATMEL RFMD503A ESSID:"NETGEAR" Nickname:"NETGEAR" Mode:Managed Channel:11 Access Point: 00:09:5B:2D:B4:44 Bit Rate:11Mb/s RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B Encryption key:off Link Quality:100 Signal level:70 Noise level:0 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 NOTE THE eth0 After I unplug the Gigaset USB 11 and then plug it in again, the IWCONFIG shows: lo no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. wlan0 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"NETGEAR" Mode:Managed Channel:10 Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00 Bit Rate:11Mb/s RTS thr=1536 B Fragment thr=1536 B Encryption key:off Power Management:off Link Quality:0 Signal level:72 Noise level:0 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 |
