I need help to find USB Based Modem working on Linux OS to support Voice and Data calls.

Preferred : Modem should be able to work on AT&T ( US carrier ).

I googled and could find some Modem supports Data only. Looking for both Voice and Data.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Can't you use your data connection to place calls using VoIP? I had a USB dongle through AT&T when I was stationed down south, and I used the data connection to place calls over VoIP on my laptop without a hitch. Is this what you are talking about, or something else?

Cheers,

Josh

Hi Josh,

I appreciate your quick reply. To be more specific, I am working on OMAP Beagle board running Android (GB), and integrate USB based modem. VOIP needs only data connection, found some modems works for Data only. Looking for modem which supports Voice calls initiated by Dialer App.

Thanks,
Anand

You beat me to it.... I am pretty sure the OP is going for a 3G/4G connection. I would try over at sparkfun, etc, for a modem and/or compatible chipset.
