Ubuntu wireless network problems

I'm new to linux, having just switched from windows XP. My problem is when I connect to my wireless network/DSL modem it forces it to disconnect from the internet. The modem is a 2wire 1000HG. Below are the settings I added to the network config.

IP Address
DeFault Gateway

Are these settings correct. I know the Routers internal IP is

The card is a Belkin F5D7000
