Ubuntu 8.04 - Dlink DWA-643 to run with airocract etc.

Alright I followed instructions posted here in order to get my Dlink DWA-643 running but I am not sure how to start it up. There is no activity light on or flashing and I am unsure of how to manually turn it on. Also in order to use airosnort will I need to reconfigure the driver to madwifi? Trying to do this I ran into all sorts of 'issues' (which were mainly just things I know nothing about) I tried to follow the instructions on various sites about madwifi but none seemed to work. If you need any more info I will be happy to give it :)

Thank you,

Mike

Hi Infernox222, Welcome to lq. What does the following return?
Code:

ndiswrapper -l
sudo ifconfig -a

No, ndiswrapper doesn't support monitor mode or promiscuous mode, only Managed and Ad-Hoc AFAIK, so you'll need to set the card up with madwifi if you need the aircrack suite.
Good luck. ;)
