SuSE 9 w/ D-LINK DWL-650+ problems...

Hi all,

To start with, I have experience with various forms of Unix (SUN, AIX. HP), but not so with Linux.

I have recently installed SuSE 9.0 on a Dell laptop, and am trying to get wireless networking going in my house.

I purchased a D-Link DWL-650+ card, and have not been able to get it working. I've searched the internet, and found a few references, but most of them are contradictory and confusing.

Has anyone tried to use this card (or a similar one) on this version of SuSE?

I a using this card with Mandrake without problems and have heard of success with Suse. Check the links in my signature, if you follow the directions and read the readme you should not have any problems.

I have been using my DWL-650+ under SuSE 9.0 for quite a while now, and there's a few gotchas in SuSE. It would be worth someone putting a SuSE-650+ howto together.

Well - I finally got it to work. I followed the instructions posted, and after compiling my own driver, it works like a champ (well, sort of - every time I plug it in I have to execute the iwconfig command. I put it in a shell script so that it's not too much bother).

Anyway - thanks to everyone for you input.
