SuSE 9.1 and Linksys WPC51AB PCMCIA card

Hi all,

This weekend I installed SuSE 9.1 Pro on my Dell Inspiron 3800 Laptop (600 Mhz with 256 Megs/RAM) and thus far all has worked fine. I'm now at work and trying to get my wireless card (Linksys WPC51AB PCMCIA) to see our 802.11B network. The card is dual-mode and picks up 11A and 11B, but it's not cooperating.

I've ran YaST to configure the card, and KWiFiManager does find the network, but it won't get an IP address from our DHCP server...so not sure what's going on. We use Cisco access points.

We use Infrastructure mode for wireless, but when I put it in ad hoc mode it does connect to some wireless access point (or maybe another device).

Has anyone gotten this card to work properly in SuSE 9.1 or Linux in general? If so, would you ind posting your config file?

Thanks,

Sam
