SSH quirk and wireless card in SUSE 10 on IBM thinkpad

Hello,

I'm a linux newbie, and I've successfully installed SUSE 10.0 in a dual boot setup with Windows XP on mt IBM thinkpad T43. Yeah! Unfortunately, Ive run into 2 problems that I would really appreciate some help about.

1. If I try to make a connection to a server using the file manager (Nautilus), it leaves an SSH connection icon on the desktop. I mistyped the address and failed to make a connection, but the icon was placed on the desktop and cannot be deleted. Attempts to drag it into the trash results in "If you want to unmount the volume, please use "Unmount Volume" in the popup menu of the volume, but no such menu can be raised. In terminal, the icons are not even listed, so I can't umount, change permissions, or rm file. Are these icons stuck on my desktop forever? There's got to be a way to delete them...

2. I can't get my internal wireless card working. I have a home wireless router, and can make the ehternet cable hookup working fine (eth0), but can't get the wireless to work (eth1). Do I need to install the driver? If so, how does one do it (step by step, in moron language). My ifconfig for eth1 looks like this:

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr <<mac address>>
BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:22808 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:2247 errors:0 dropped:3 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:84 (84.0 b)
Interrupt:11 Base address:0x8000 Memory:a8401000-a8401fff

thanks a milllion in advance!
regards,
-j
