sppofing, or simulating fake access points


is there a way to spoof, or create fake access points without using a prism card? i have been trying to do this for 10 hours, with no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can I ask why you would want to create a fake access point?

FakeAPs won't protect your network, a FakeAP honeypot was used in a famous demonstration by the FBI and they cracked the WEP key in 3 minutes. Another use for FakeAP appears to be a DOS type attack on a network. FakeAPs provide no security at best, and facilitate a DOS attack at worst. So why use it?
