SMC PCI Wireless (Atheros 5212) Problem

Dear all,

I've bought an wireless PCI card SMCWPCIT-G 108Mb/s
After installing SuSE 9.3 Pro, I unstalled my LAN card, and replaced it by my wireless PCI card. Everything seems to go well after startup.

After running YaST and setting up my card with WPS-PSK it goes wrong. When shutting down the wireless card (ath0), my whole system will hangup.

Rebooting doesn't provide me with an new dhcp address. Everytime I try to shutdown my wireless card with "ifdown ath0", causes my system to hang.

At first, I had both cards (LAN and W-LAN) in my machine. I think my wireless card got an IP-adres via DHCP through my LAN card then, because both were on the same subnet...

In my notebook I have a PCMCIA card, also with Atheros 5212 chipset (This one works perfectly). When I compare iwconfig output of both machines, the output is almost similar. Nothing strange.

When I put the wireless PCI card in another machine a get same (not working) results under linux. Under Window$ XP card works fine.

So ... I'm stuck for now ...
Any suggestions are welcome ...
