Slackware; wicd bad password

Hi

The wireless network was working fine yesterday, but it stopped working and I didn't do any kind of updates nor anything related, it just pops up "Bad Password" but the password is fine because I hadn't change it (I certainly retyped it later but still no work!).

I'm using wicd 1.7 from Slackware's extra folder, tried using 1.6 but the config files hadn't been deleted and I don't know how to do so, either way it didn't work.

Wireless card(from lscpi) : 03:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)

Log from /var/log/wicd/wicd.log

Wired network works fine though. Any clues to fix that issue in wicd? Some posts from the web suggests removing network-manager, but it's not installed in this machine (some ubuntu-related sites).

It happened to me a few times in the past. In my case it was always the router's glitch where it sometimes resets to its factory settings. Last night, for example, it happened again. I logged in to the router's control panel via the wired network and found out that in some mysterious way WPA2 was changed to WEP so the saved passphrase did not work. My router has been playing up for some time now. It usually happens after I have been downloading heavily for a day or two. It looks like it can't stand the heat

My router behaves in a similar manner. If I get a "bad password" error from wicd I just unplug it, wait a couple of minutes and then start it up again and I can connect without problems.

Hi,

I thought that too but I unplugged and plugged it again after several minutes and it didn't work, as I've a windows partition installed( don't ask me why) I tried to connect via wireless through it and worked fine. Tried installing NetworkManager but it warns with ./configure that NSS installed it oudated and I've no idea how to upgrade it.
