Set up a (D-Link) DWL G120 wireless adapter
 

Hi I'm really new to Linux. I have Mandriva One Spring 2007. I love the interface and would use it everyday, however I connect to the internet through a wireless adapter. The DWL G120 worked great with Windows XP, but I don't know how to make it work on Linux. Here are my specs:

HP Pavilion 533w
2.0 Ghz Celeron Processor
256 Mb RAM
Nvidia Geforce FX5500 w/ 256 built in RAM

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Look it up in the HCL section here at the top and to the right.
If not listed there then provide the info related to the nic from this command.
/sbin/lspci -v

More than likely it will require ndiswrapper. Some use others but ndiswrapper works with just about all using the windows inf driver to interface with it. Search here and on google for ndiswrapper and your distro you are suing. Probably several post related to that. You may have to look through several pages of searched posts but it is there unless a really odd distro but looking just for ndiswrappper will work.

ok i found the thing that says DWL G120, but it says Fedora core 3. I have mandriva one spring (GNOME) so will it be compatible?

From the looks it mentions using ndiswrapper. Look for post on mandriva and ndiswrapper install and then you load the windows inf driver into ndiswrapper and configure the nic. I would say many post on it here and check out ndiswrapper website.
