rt2570 driver trouble installing

I am currently remastering the Finnix live-cd, and cant get the rt2570 driver to "make" I get

make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.17-2-x86-finnix/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
rt2570.ko failed to build!
make: *** [module] Error 1

I did apt-get install build-essential, and the kernel header was installed, so Im not sure what else to do. thanks

The /build/ directory links back to your kernel sources, usu in /usr/src/linux

You will need sources that have been configured, at least with make menuconfig
