robust wireless/wired networking on laptop?

Hi,

I have a laptop that I use in many public places that have some combination of wireless and/or wired access. I want to be able to configure my wireless and wired connections in the following way:

if I can get a dhcp address on eth1 (wireless), then set the gateway accordingly, and use it.

else if I can get a dhcp address on eth0 (wired), then set gw, and use that connection instead.

I really have no idea how to do this. Right now, I can get both eth0 and eth1 to get an IP, but I have to manually remove and add 'route' entries to get it working.

Thanks in advance,
Johnny.
