Problems with my Intel Centrino wireless...

Hi there,

I'm almost a complete linux newbie - I use it a lot at uni, but I've only recently started using it at home.

I've just installed KUbuntu linux on my laptop - and for some reason, I can't get linux to recognise my wireless card.

When I got to System Settings > Wireless settings, I have to devices, eth0 (the wireless card), and eth1 (my networking card). Both are disabled. I can't enable them at all.

Anyone have any advice? It would definately be appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

What wireless card do you have? Typing "lspci" as root should show you. Then, check out the HCL on this site and see if anyone else has info on getting your card going. Most wireless cards don't work straight away without a little configuration, but you should be able to get it going.
