Problems with Belkin F5D6020 ver.2 and Mandrake 9.2

I'm a newbie and still having problems getting my WLAN to work. I've read lots of threads on this card.. but still no luck. I'll try and give as much info as possible... and help will be really appreciated!!

My kernel is 2.4.22-26mdk. When my system boots I get:

starting pcmcia: cardmgr[1100]: socket 0: belkin f5d6020 rev.2 [OK]

... a few more lines later when ALSA starts I get:

starting ALSA version 0.9.6: cardmgr[1100]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: resource temporarily unavailable

The steps I took so far were adding the lines

device "pcmf502_revd" class "network" module "pcmf502_revd"

card "Belkin F5D6020 rev.2"
manfid 0x01bf, 0x3302
bind "pcmf502_revd"

to /etc/pcmcia/config as I've read in many places.

iwconfig outputs:

lo no wireless extenstions

eth0 no wireless extensions

Also, I still need my wired nic eth0, so how do I go about configuring the wireless nic as eth1?

Thanks in advance,

Si.

funny i should come across this thread, i just got this working again a few days ago after upgrading my kernel.
is the pcmf502rd module loading ?
whats the output of lsmod ?
what happens when you type "modprobe pcmf502rd" ?
did you move the module to the proper module folder after it was created ?
i think it has to recognize the card in iwconfig before it will see it in ifconfig, and at that point you probably wanna use "ifconfig -a".
