problem with pcmcia wireless card--no power! :(

I picked up a Microsoft MN-720 Wireless G PCMCIA card the other day (yes ms i know..but it was cheap) it works beautifully in Windows XP Pro (dual boot) but I am having some troubles with it on FC3. Ive heard places that most people dont have a problem with the card and that it works fine, but alas for me no hope

Ive installed ndiswrapper and the driver no problem and modprobed it. When I do ndiswrapper -l i get "driver loaded, hardware present" good so far but no LED lights. iwconfig gives me the following information about wlan0..

[root@localhost Desktop]# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSIDff/any Nickname:"localhost.localdomain"
Mode:Auto Frequency:2.412GHz Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Bit Rate=54Mb/s Tx-Power:16 dBm
RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Encryption keyff
Power Managementff
Link Quality:100/100 Signal level:-10 dBm Noise level:-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

cardctl ident gives me this:

[root@localhost Desktop]# cardctl ident
Socket 0:
product info: "Broadcom", "802.11b CardBus", "8.0"
manfid: 0x02d0, 0x0406
function: 6 (network)

I can also see an entry for it in scanpci -v

cardctl eject 0 & cardctl insert 0 have no effect (no errors)
also when I try to enable it after adding a wireless connection with ndiswrapper in Gnome Networking it says this:

Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.

Determining IP information for wlan0... failed; no link present. Check cable?

Any suggestions??

Steve

ndiswrapper -i /path/to/inf/file
ndiswrapper -l
ndiswrapper -m
modprobe ndiswrapper

???
after that, my card turned on.

ive actually now fixed part of this problem, i upgraded to the newest FC3 kernl 2.6.10-1.737->2.6.10-1.741 and now the power light goes on when I use the Microsoft drivers, however at the same time I get a kernel panic (regardless if its on boot or at desktop/shell).

any suggestions?
