problem with ndiswrapper in SUSE 10.1
I installed ndiswrapper from the CD using YaST but when I tried to use it (ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5a.inf) it said "bash: ndiswrapper: command not found" so I rebooted and tried again and the same thing happened so I downloaded the source and compiled it myself and tried again and the same thing happened so I rebooted redownloaded it and recompiled it and tried again and it still doesn't work. I'm trying ndiswrapper 1.22 on a standard dell inspiron 5150 with a Truemobile 1350 card, I looked on the ndiswrapper wiki and it should be supported. I've followed all the instructions why isn't this working?
Please tell be before I go mad with rage and throw my laptop off the roof. Punching the desk with fury, Nate |
No throwing laptops off the roof unless I'm there to catch them!
You have to be logged on as root to use ndiswrapper. In a console, type su, and enter the root password. You should be able to use it then. Don't forget to use the -m to write a configuration for modprobe, then modprobe ndiswrapper to load it! Good luck! |
Thanks for the quick response. I kept trying sudo (which says "ndiswrapper: no such command") but I never tried su.
I thought they did the same thing but I guess I was wrong. Thanks a lot! No longer bashing my head into the wall, Nate |
