Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I'm running Suse 10 x86_64 on a Acer Travelmate 4400 series, 4401LMi.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
I seem to have this same problem. I've been able to get the essid set on my home network, but I can't seem to connect to any other networks. I just get an error saying something along the lines of "cannot perform SET operation"... oh well, not a big problem.

Hey ShatteredArm.
The way i do it is there is different configuration settings u can set up for kwifimanager. Use that to connect to any other network. Make some config the in the ESSID field each time type in the essid u get from iwlist dev# scan...
Then from the drop down choose config number and hit activate. Worked for me at least. Post a reply if it still don't work.

Wow, I didn't even know about kwifimanager. That's cool.

I probably won't have a chance to actually test it for awhile, since I rarely try to use a network other than my home one. But it's worth playing around with.
