Problem leasing ip with ma101 wireless

I'm using a netgear ma101 with atml drivers and I can't seem to get an ip from my router. Using these cmds I've partially set it up

ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.102(a free ip address on the router)
route add default gw 192.168.0.1

I've tried using dhclient eth1 but all that does is start:
DHCPDISCOVER on eth1 on 255.255.255.0(something along the lines of that) and its says it cant find anything.

I've tested it with ifconfig and woconfig to make sure it is recognized. I've also setup the channel and ssid.

(I can only access the router website(D-link 614+) by typing in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and loging in I can get to my router website, but as far as brwosing goes im getting nothing). I have DHCP enabled on my router. I'm using Slackware 9.1.
