Problem detecting wireless adapter (Slackware 12.1 - Macbook)

Hi,
As stated above, I'm running Slackware 12.1 on an Apple Macbook (currently it's the only OS running on the laptop), and I'm having trouble getting it to detect the Apple Wireless Network Adapter (that's the brand and model name according to the Apple Mac OS X install disks). I've run iwconfig from the command line, and tried to detect it in the KDE interface, to no avail.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

What version of macbook is it?

If it is recent then it probably has a Broadcom BCM3218 chip in it for which you will need to install ndiswrapper and then use the windows drivers.

There is tons of stuff on the net regarding installing ndiswrapper. This page I wrote about install F8 x86_64 on a MacBook also contains instructions (albeit Fedora specific) which you could adapt to your distro:

(FWIW, the commands "lsusb" and "lspci" would give you more information about what type of card it is)

Thanks a lot, I have that all sorted now, but another problem has arisen. When I go to Network Settings in KControl and try to enable the wlan0 interface, I get the following error:

"Could not parse the XML output from the network configuration backend."

Now I'm totally lost, heh. Linux (well, Slackware actually) and wireless networking newbie here, so I'm not quite sure what's going on. Any ideas?

No idea, I don't use KControl or even KDE. I use NetworkManager to manage my wireless. Maybe that is available in Slackware too?
