Prism54 chipset USB Can't set it to Master mode

According to ths web site
http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/p54
My USB Wireless device with prism54 chipset should work with AP Mode

Code:
root@fit-desktop:/home/fit# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

eth1 no wireless extensions.

pan0 no wireless extensions.

wmaster0 no wireless extensions.

wlan5 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:""
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
          Tx-Power=27 dBm
          Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2352 B
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off
          Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

root@fit-desktop:/home/fit# iwconfig wlan5 mode Master
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan5 ; Invalid argument.
The Device is up and good and can do iwlist scan
only problem is I can't set it to Master mode

Am I missing something? Or there's something I don't know about this

Unless this is a rare circumstance, I didn't think that there were any USB wireless devices that were hostapd capable, or at least not yet. I think there were some Ralink devices that were close, however.

I went through the process of looking for AP capable USB devices a few months ago, and came to the conclusion that mini-pci/pci devices are the best solution.

Try setting up a name for your ESSID first, it's blank.
