[FIX] Please help fix: sky2 error: rx length error: status 0x42c0500 length 600

-Using: Etch / Etch-n-half / Lenny. Tried using kernels 486 & 686
-Installation on Toshiba Satellite laptop with Marvel Technologies NIC (88E8039)
- sky2 module is loaded
- "lspci" shows all NIC details - so the card is recognized

I'm not a total Linux noob but still have a lot to learn. I just can't seem to find a fix for this. I installed Lenny (testing) and as soon as I bring up "eth0", I get repeated, continuously running error: sky2 eth0 error: rx length error: status 0x42c0500 length 600

When I do: ifconfig eth0 down -> it stops. When I bring it back up... It starts again.

- Zero-ed out drive and installed "Etch-N-Half" - trying all kernels - same error

- Zero-ed out that install and installed "Etch 4.04a version" with 686 kernel and THERE IS NO ERROR.

Problem there is that laptop has the Intel x3100 graphics card and there doesn't seem to be a solution to get 1280x800 reso running. Etch-n-half and Lenny use the Intel driver with no problem.

I'd rather stick with Lenny and get the sky2 error fixed.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Well... This didn't fix the error... Lots of people with this problem... no solution yet. So I went and bought a USB / Ethernet adapter for $9.99, plugged it into USB port, installed my system without any errors at all. It definitely points to a problem with the Marvell Yukon NIC. Hope this temp fix helps someone.
