Planet 8310 wireless card driver? (atheros)
I recently purchased a Planet WL-8310 and am going to be configuring it for SUSE 9.1. Can someone point me to a driver package for Linux? I know it uses the Atheros chipset, but am having a real hard time finding a driver for it. Went to sourceforge, but they don't even have the files there, just a link to something called CVS.

The driver program you will want to use is ndiswrapper. This can be located at

Although your card is not specifically listed, I suggest you download the latest XP driver and take it from there, ensuring you have the kernel-source installed from the Suse 9.1 cd. Suse 9.1 comes with ndiswrapper 0.9. This may already be installed in which case I suggest you try using this first and failing that, download 0.11 from the sourceforge page. Post back and paste errors and I will try to help.

So you think that's the way to go rather than the MADWIFI? Does the ndis wrapper give you WEP/WPA? thanks for the link.

No you set WEP (WPA not sure) via the wireless-tools package.

You could try madwifi but not many people around here use that I think.

I'm using Madwifi with this card without a hitch.
