Phased out card, generic driver available? [Driver found] WL-383F

I've spent about two weeks on this issue and I've run out of ideas.

I'm working on a Itronix Gobook Pro. So far I've got everything working on it without a problem. Right now I'm trying to get the wireless card to work. I grabbed the wireless card's model number, WL-383F. I google around a bit and managed to figure out it was made by Sparklan.
Sparklan didn't have any information on their site. I couldn't find anything useful elsewhere either. I ended up emailing Sparklan asking for any information they had on it. About a week later I got an email back. They've phased out the card (I figured that part out) and also attached a data sheet.
Looking at it I figured out that the card has a prism chipset.

My question is, is there a generic driver for the prism chipset that I can use for this? or have I gotten le shaft?

Also, I uploaded the Data sheet For your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for doing the homework on the adapter before asking the question.

It's very likely that the wlan-ng driver will work with your device.

Thanks! I'll try it later. I have to compile my kernel first so I have a build tree, plus I've been needing to do it anyways!

Oh, and just to show how badass Sparklan's support is. I asked if they still had a copy of the linux drivers they had available, and they sent them my way.

Grab it here.

That link is for PCMCIA card services, which includes some basic drivers - all of which should already be in your system unless you compiled them out with a custom kernel.

The orinoco_cs driver will support a Prism card, in addition to the wlan-ng drivers I linked above.

From a technical perspective, they didn't do you a huge favor. From a customer relations viewpoint, though, that you even got a reply from them on an old card using Linux is outstanding.

I'll try the wlan-ng, I'm having issues compiling the kernel right now, but I'll get those squared away.

I was surprised they didn't just tell me they phased it out and couldn't help me anymore.
