Orinoco GOLD - 128 bit work in Linux?

Has anyone tried getting the GOLD card to work in Red HAT 8.0? I was able to get the Silver card to work, but not GOLD. What module or driver do you use? Has anyone been able to get 128-bit encryption to work in Linux as well?

Please respond. Thanks

Yeah it works

Red Hat 8's default kernel has support for the Hermes chipset (included in Orinoco silver and gold cards). Just pop it in and run redhat-config-network (or click the gnome menu, go to system settings, then click network). From there it's pretty straight forward, but if you need additional help, check out http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...rk-config.html. Also, don't forget to set up your 128-bit key.

Hi,
I have installed the orinoco-0.13 driver and in the network settings, I added the wieless device and configured it by setting my Network Name(SSID), and 128-bit key. But I am unable to activate the wireless LAN card. I am using Lucent Orinoco Wireless LAN card. Please help. Am I forgetting something while setting up?

Thanks
Pradeep
