Mint will be a MUCH better choice...Oracle Linux is meant to be purchased, and is meant to be used to drive back-end Oracle servers. Not really suitable for desktop hardware, and the same goes for Red Hat Enterprise, SuSE Enterprise, or CentOS. Things like Wifi, sound, bluetooth, or even graphics aren't well supported, since servers don't HAVE those things.

Chances are your Mint will work right out of the box, and so will wireless. Good luck!

mint 17.1 does work out of the box but i still only get 72% wifi signal,i was wondering if there is a better Linux distro for my Acer Aspire 5536 laptop that works better with my Atheros adapter
Qualcom Atheros AR9271 chip built in (ath9k_htc driver).
thank you.
