not stupid at all... just not good at picking decent thread titles....

i admit that i do not know *anything* about GUI tools for wireless interfaces, but the console way is pretty easy. basically you first need to use iwconfig to connect to a given access point, providing your details to pick out the right network. e.g. "iwconfig eth0 essid mywlan" will specify that you want your first ethernet interface, which we're asuming is the wireless one, to attempt to use the wireless network "mywlan", similarily you're also able to supply your WEP if needed. once you've attached to a network, you can then run your dhcp client on that interface to get online, e.g. "pump -i eth0" assuming pump is on your system. if that woks... bamm, you're online.

Pretty ambitious to go from 0 to wireless as a first step! Good for you.

You might want to check linux.org or other sites that have the HOWTO docs and review the wireless one. You could also look at the RedHat website or forums to find RH specific utils that may be in that distribution that would help with the wireless configuration and usage.

Best of luck.
