I personally don't think wireless works* with Linux.

* plug in a wireless card, configure connection with wireless network all without losing hair, crying, wasting oceans of time, etc. etc.

If you're using a 2.6.x kernel, it's really pretty easy to do... Just find a prism or orinoco card, and use iwconfig to set the parameters of the AP you want to connect to.
